Avs gain on Flames in frantic playoff chase in 4-3 win

All of a sudden, the Avalanche is chasing the Calgary Flames, who now hold down the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference.

The Avalanche's 4-3 win over the Flames at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night, coupled with Minnesota's shootout victory against Dallas, changed the team it is trying to catch.
